Edinburgh's impressive and assertive young scrum-half hails from the Borders heartlands and is primed for a breakout campaign.

Edinburgh scrum-half Hector Patterson is enjoying a breakthrough campaign following an impressive performance in his side's victory over Ulster. The 21-year-old scored a try and assisted another for Piers O’Conor as part of an energetic young squad adopting a faster, more ambitious game model.
Patterson, who hails from the Borders and previously played for Hawick, will retain the starting number nine jersey for Friday's match against the Stormers. Edinburgh has signed scrum-half Louie Chapman from the Crusaders, but Chapman is not scheduled to join the squad until November.
