Handré Pollard has opened up on the freak training ground injury that ruled him out of the second Rugby's Greatest Rivalry Test against the All Blacks.

Springbok flyhalf Handré Pollard has opened up about the freak training injury that ruled him out of the second Test against the All Blacks in Cape Town. Pollard explained that he slipped on the pitch while trying to accelerate, sustaining a small calf tear that sidelined him for the remainder of the high-profile series.
Pollard admitted the emotional difficulty of being unable to contribute on the field after preparing with the squad. Looking ahead, the two-time World Cup winner embraced his veteran mentorship role as he prepares to help guide the team against Australia.
