The Story in 60 Seconds

Ireland management has issued a positive injury update on out-half Sam Prendergast ahead of Friday's Nations Championship Northern Series opener against Argentina at the Aviva Stadium. The 23-year-old Leinster playmaker suffered a wrist injury during training last week, but the squad confirmed that he continues to improve and coaches remain optimistic he will be available for selection.

Prendergast is considered the frontrunner for Ireland's No. 10 jersey under head coach Andy Farrell following a long-term injury to Munster's Jack Crowley. If Prendergast is ruled out, Connacht back Ciaran Frawley could step in, while Jimmy O'Brien has already resumed full training with the squad.
