Kevin Sinfield received his knighthood at Windsor Castle after previously being barred from receiving one due to Royal protocol

England rugby union coach and MND campaigner Kevin Sinfield officially received his knighthood from the Prince of Wales at Windsor Castle on Wednesday. Sinfield was honored for his services to the motor neurone disease community and rugby, having raised more than £12 million for charity. The ceremony followed UK honors system rules that previously delayed the upgrade after he was awarded a CBE in 2023.
Sinfield expressed that he felt humbled and accepted the knighthood on behalf of MND families and his late Leeds Rhinos teammate Rob Burrow. He praised Prince William and Princess Catherine for their consistent support and announced plans for a future fundraising run across Australia and New Zealand.
