Harlequins head coach Jason Gilmore confirmed that England fly-half Marcus Smith is on track to return from a finger injury for Sunday's match against Sale Sharks. Harlequins currently sit at the bottom of the Gallagher Premiership table after opening their campaign with back-to-back defeats against Bath and Gloucester.

While Smith is prepared to make his return, loosehead prop Fin Baxter remains sidelined with a long-term foot injury but could return next week against Vannes. Gilmore also reported that Samoan tighthead prop Titi Lamositele is nearing a return to action after being sidelined for 11 months with a foot issue.
