Queensland Reds rookie Nick Conway has revealed his battle with rare and aggressive testicular cancer during his final year at Nudgee College. The 19-year-old fullback-winger, who is the son of former Brisbane Broncos player Bob Conway, underwent surgery and returned to action within eight weeks. Conway praised former Reds coach Les Kiss and rugby general manager Sam Cordingley for their steadfast support through his diagnosis and subsequent back injuries.
