The tennis ace was forced to call it a day early.

Alexander Bublik retired hurt during his Almaty Open semi-final match against Daniil Medvedev in Kazakhstan on Saturday. Bublik withdrew from the contest after dropping the first set 6-3 to Medvedev, citing a suspected right knee issue. The retirement sent Medvedev through to the tournament final.
Medvedev will now face Georgia's Nikoloz Basilashvili in the championship match. The victory marks Medvedev's second consecutive final appearance on the ATP Tour, following his run at the Shanghai Masters, while Bublik's injury followed an intense match against Karen Khachanov the previous day.
