Tennis has often seen the unfortunate scene of players snapping at ball kids in the heat of the moment during a tight match, and it does not make for good viewing. However, the opposite is also true, where players go…

Arthur Fils earned widespread praise from Parisian fans after comforting a ball girl who was accidentally struck by a ball during his Paris Masters match against Taylor Fritz. An out serve from Fritz ricocheted off a wall and hit the ball girl in the face, leaving her shaken and in tears. Fils quickly stepped in, put a comforting arm around her, and escorted her off the court to receive medical attention.
Fritz went on to win the encounter 6-3, 6-4, advancing to the quarterfinals to face Carlos Alcaraz as he pursues a spot at the ATP Finals. Despite the defeat, Fils had already secured his qualification for the season-ending championships in Turin, becoming the first French player to qualify since Gael Monfils in 2016.
