Jannik Sinner won’t play another match this season. After withdrawing from the Shanghai Masters, Sinner ended his season early due to injury. The world number one hasn’t played a match since winning the Wimbledon final in July.
WTA stars Jessica Pegula and Madison Keys reacted to world number one Jannik Sinner ending his 2026 season early due to injury. Speaking on 'The Player's Box Podcast', both players noted that Sinner's unique, demanding movement on the court made physical setbacks unsurprising, with Pegula comparing his agility to skiing and Novak Djokovic.
Sinner had not played since winning Wimbledon in July before withdrawing from the Shanghai Masters. The Italian, who claimed six titles in nine events this year, will lose the world number one ranking to Alexander Zverev before 2027.
