Alexander Zverev cut a frustrated figure during his post-match news conference addressing the questions about his newly attained status. The new World No.
Alexander Zverev showed clear frustration during his post-match press conference following a shock 7-6(5), 6-2 defeat to Lorenzo Musetti at the Paris Masters. The newly crowned World No. 1 acknowledged that his level was poor during the Round of 32 loss, but argued he should not have to defend his ranking after winning two Grand Slam titles this season.
Musetti capitalized on 21 unforced errors from Zverev to complete the upset in 100 minutes. Despite facing criticism on social media about his status as top seed, the German maintains that one defeat does not undermine his successful year as he shifts focus to the ATP Finals in Turin.
