The Rangers are getting some goaltending reinforcements, as they have signed goalie James Reimer to a 1 year, league minimum…

The New York Rangers have signed goaltender James Reimer to a one-year, league-minimum contract worth $850,000 and reassigned defenseman Matthew Robertson to the AHL. Reimer is set to take over backup duties from Spencer Martin, who is expected to return to the AHL.
The roster moves come as starting goaltender Dylan Garand faces fatigue after leading the Rangers to a 7-5-1 October start. Writer Dave Shapiro views Reimer as a practical stopgap capable of providing average goaltending to relieve Garand.
