Trainer Robert Garcia revealed that Jesse 'Bam' Rodriguez has been secretly preparing to fight as a full 122-pounder ahead of a potential clash with undisputed super-bantamweight champion Naoya Inoue. Garcia stated that Rodriguez will match Inoue in physical size on fight night, with discussions indicating the anticipated showdown could take place at the Fukuoka Dome in March.
Rodriguez recently captured the WBA bantamweight title from Antonio Vargas after moving up from super-flyweight. Inoue, who defeated Junto Nakatani in May, is reportedly expected to move up to featherweight following the Rodriguez bout in an attempt to capture a world title in a fifth division.
