Borussia Dortmund were reportedly interested in signing Michael Olise in the summer of 2024 before he joined Bayern Munich. According to Bild's "Dortmund Insider" podcast, BVB had Olise on their wishlist and made specific enquiries. However, Dortmund were unable to compete financially once Bayern entered the race and completed a permanent deal.
Bayern Munich ultimately signed the French international from Crystal Palace for a €53 million transfer fee. Ahead of their upcoming clash with Bayern, Dortmund head coach Niko Kovac expressed confidence in defender Daniel Svensson to contain Olise, who has recorded 12 goals and seven assists this season.
