A report by CIES Football Observatory reveals that Celtic holds a transfer value appreciation gap of more than £100 million over Glasgow rivals Rangers. Celtic ranks 28th overall with an estimated €216 million (around £183 million) generated in transfer appreciation from non-academy signings over the past five years. In comparison, Rangers generated €96 million (around £81 million), making them the only other Scottish club included on the list.
The calculated valuation accounts for both departed players and those currently under contract, reflecting Celtic's effective player trading model. The report also places Celtic ahead of several major European clubs, including Chelsea, Newcastle, and Juventus, in terms of transfer value growth.
