Unai Emery fires Newcastle United warning after Johan Manzambi transfer truth unfolds

Aston Villa manager Unai Emery has warned his squad must stay intensely focused ahead of their clash against Newcastle United at St James' Park. Villa forward Johan Manzambi, who scored in a recent six-goal European victory, originally gave a verbal agreement to Newcastle sporting director Ross Wilson before choosing Villa in a £59.5 million permanent transfer from Freiburg, reportedly influenced by Villa's Champions League qualification.

Emery praised the ongoing progress and fitness of returning players, including Manzambi, Nicolas Jackson, and Ibrahim Mbaye. While Villa struggled early in the campaign, Emery noted the team is improving across competitions and demanded continued sharpness against Newcastle, who previously matched Villa's fee and wage offer for Manzambi.
