The former India pacer will take up the role starting next season following his retirement from professional cricket.
Former India fast bowler Mohit Sharma has been appointed as the new bowling coach for Chennai Super Kings starting next season. CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan confirmed the appointment, noting that Sharma was recommended for the position by head coach Zaheer Khan. The 37-year-old takes over the role from former bowling coach Eric Simmons following his retirement from all formats of cricket in December 2025.
Sharma previously played four seasons across two stints with CSK, notably winning the Purple Cap in 2014 with 23 wickets. Over his IPL career, he took 134 wickets in 120 matches while representing CSK, Punjab Kings, Gujarat Titans, and Delhi Capitals. Viswanathan stated that additional coaching staff appointments will be finalized on Khan's recommendation in the coming weeks.
