The Palmeiras player has been suspended, while he is currently sidelined with a knee injury

Former Rangers left-back Jefte has tested positive for the banned substance furosemide following an out-of-competition test conducted in August. The 22-year-old Brazilian defender, who joined Palmeiras in 2025, has accepted a provisional suspension while the Anti-Doping Sports Justice Tribunal investigates the case.
Palmeiras confirmed that the substance was taken involuntarily outside the club's facilities and without medical staff knowledge. Jefte publicly denied intentionally cheating or seeking a competitive advantage, stating he is working with lawyers and Palmeiras to defend himself and clarify the situation.
