The Milwaukee Bucks waived guard Kevin Porter Jr. on Monday after a 2025-26 season in which he led the team in assists per game and ranked second in scoring.

The Milwaukee Bucks waived guard Kevin Porter Jr. on Monday ahead of the NBA roster deadline and their season opener against Washington. Porter led the Bucks in assists and ranked second in scoring during the 2025-26 season, averaging 17.4 points, 7.4 assists, 5.2 rebounds, and 2.2 steals across 38 games.
The decision addresses a backcourt surplus as Milwaukee retools following the offseason trade of Giannis Antetokounmpo to Miami. Releasing Porter clears playing time for younger guards, including rookie draft pick Brayden Burries, Kasparas Jakučionis, Ryan Rollins, and Tyler Herro.
