Dylan Larkin returned to action for the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday, playing his first game since requesting a trade. Activated off injured reserve just before pregame warmups, Larkin recorded a goal and an assist in Detroit's 5-3 victory over the Ottawa Senators. Despite being initially booed by home fans on his first shift, he was later cheered after scoring in the first period.
Head coach Todd McLellan credited Larkin's performance as vital to the win. Larkin, who was stripped of Detroit's captaincy following his trade request, logged 20:41 of ice time across 26 shifts.
