Senators forward William Eklund is expected to be out 10 to 12 weeks after undergoing surgery to repair a torn tendon in his ankle suffered last week against the Flyers.

Ottawa Senators forward William Eklund is expected to be sidelined for 10 to 12 weeks after undergoing surgery to repair a torn tendon in his ankle. Head coach Travis Green confirmed the news to reporters on Thursday. Eklund suffered the injury last week following a hit by Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Simon Benoit.
The 23-year-old forward was acquired by Ottawa in June from the San Jose Sharks in exchange for the ninth pick in the 2026 NHL draft. Prior to the injury, Eklund had recorded one goal and one assist through four games with the Senators this season.
