Joao Fonseca has been forced to end his season ahead of schedule.

Brazilian tennis player Joao Fonseca has announced an early end to his season after withdrawing from both the Swiss Indoors in Basel and the Paris Masters. The 20-year-old took to Instagram to confirm that he is not in optimal physical condition to compete, opting to shut down his campaign to prioritize rehabilitation.
Fonseca had originally skipped the Asian swing hoping to defend his title in Basel. However, persistent issues stemming from an abdominal injury sustained at the Cincinnati Masters prompted him and his team to shift their full focus toward preparation for the 2027 season.
