DP World Tour toughens its stance towards LIV golfers with new ban on players being able to play both tours.

The DP World Tour has announced that players who join LIV Golf next season will be barred from DP World Tour membership in 2027 and excluded from European Ryder Cup team eligibility. CEO Guy Kinnings stated that golfers must choose where they compete, effectively ending conditional release agreements previously granted to players such as Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton.
In response, LIV Golf accused the DP World Tour of interfering with its restructuring process following a recent Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing. Speaking at a New York court hearing, LIV attorney Rob Fitzgerald expressed concerns over anti-competitive practices as deadlines for tour applications approach over the next five weeks.
