Francesca Lyons opens up on the battle her father the former Everton player Mike Lyons is now facing

The daughter of former Everton captain Mike Lyons is seeking assistance to bring her father back to England from Australia as he battles dementia. Francesca Lyons is hoping for support from the Professional Footballers' Association to help relocate the 74-year-old, who currently resides in a care facility in Perth after receiving a diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease and vascular dementia in July 2021.
Lyons made 473 appearances for Everton, placing him sixth on the club's all-time appearances list. A new book written by Simon Hart details how Lyons' family believes his degenerative condition was caused by repetitive head injuries and heading drills during his professional football career.
