The NFLPA last week called for an investigation of Hurts' medical care. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said: "We welcome that."

The NFL and the NFL Players Association are working together to review how the Philadelphia Eagles handled quarterback Jalen Hurts' medical situation. The review follows the NFLPA's call for an investigation after Hurts was diagnosed with blood clots in his lungs, which will sideline him for the remainder of the season.
Hurts was initially cleared by medical staff to play with a superficial blood clot in Week 5 against the Jacksonville Jaguars in London. However, upon returning to the United States, the clot moved to his lungs. Although the NFL previously stated clearance protocols were followed properly, Commissioner Roger Goodell stated he welcomes an investigation.
