Sports and politics are mixing in the week before Election Day in Texas.

Former San Francisco 49ers and University of Texas quarterback Colt McCoy is joining Donald Trump on the campaign trail in Texas this week. According to Axios, Trump has scheduled appearances with McCoy alongside fellow football stars Johnny Manziel and Danny Amendola for stops in Lubbock and Corpus Christi on Tuesday.
The appearances come as Republicans face a competitive statewide Senate race between Republican Ken Paxton and Democrat James Talarico. McCoy, who retired from the NFL in 2024 following a 12-year career that included serving as Colin Kaepernick's backup in 2013, now works in commercial real estate.
