The Story in 60 Seconds

The Toronto Maple Leafs secured a 6-3 comeback victory over the Colorado Avalanche on Saturday in Denver, but the win was overshadowed by an injury to veteran defenseman Chris Tanev. Tanev exited the contest in the first period with an undisclosed upper-body injury following a bump from Colorado's Artturi Lehkonen and did not return. Maple Leafs head coach Jim Hiller did not have an immediate update on the severity of the injury.

William Nylander propelled Toronto's offense with a five-point performance, surpassing 700 career points and moving into seventh place on the franchise's all-time goals list. Goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky made key saves to preserve the win against an aggressive Avalanche attack led by Nathan MacKinnon's two goals. Defenseman Nick Blankenburg also scored in his season debut for the Maple Leafs.
