Mirra Andreeva continues her surge up the WTA Rankings.

Mirra Andreeva is set to rise to a career-high world No. 3 in the WTA Rankings after advancing to the China Open final. The 19-year-old French Open champion defeated Nikola Bartunkova 6-2, 6-2 in the semi-finals of the WTA 1000 event in Beijing. The victory guarantees she will surpass both Coco Gauff and Jessica Pegula in the updated rankings, making her the youngest woman to reach the top three since Maria Sharapova in 2005.
Reaching the final elevates Andreeva to 6,371 points, with a potential title run lifting her to 6,721 points as she closes in on second-placed Aryna Sabalenka. Andreeva, who has already secured qualification for the season-ending WTA Finals, will face either Elise Mertens or Zheng Qinwen in the Beijing championship match.
