North Wales Crusaders have resumed negotiations with the Rugby Football League over a Championship license for next season after previously withdrawing their application. Chairman Jamie El-Kaleh met with RFL chief executive Ian Nolan and offered to forgo central distribution funding to secure approval.
The club has now agreed to utilize an escrow account required by the RFL, reversing a prior disagreement. Crusaders submitted an updated business plan scaling down 2027 operations in North Wales before pursuing an expanded South Wales hybrid model in 2028.
