He will face his former club after returning to Newcastle in 2025.

Newcastle Knights winger Dominic Young has opened up about his departure from the Sydney Roosters ahead of their NRL Grand Final clash. The 25-year-old English international originally left Newcastle for a four-year deal in Bondi, but parted ways just 18 months into the contract before returning to the Knights in 2025. Young stated he holds no regrets or bad blood regarding his Roosters stint.
After falling out of Sydney's first-grade lineup in 2025, Young rejoined Newcastle and revitalized his form under coach Justin Holbrook. Ahead of facing his former team and veteran winger Daniel Tupou in the decider, Young praised center partner Dane Gagai for helping unlock his top try-scoring form.
