Former Los Angeles Lakers star James Worthy praised new signing Sandro Mamukelashvili following a preseason loss to the Denver Nuggets, comparing his style of play to NBA legend Manu Ginobili. Speaking on the Lakers' postgame show on Spectrum, Worthy highlighted Mamukelashvili's physicality, left-handed play, and shot-creation abilities, calling the free agent signing a high-octane player who will serve as a major asset to the team.
Mamukelashvili recorded 15 points, eight rebounds, and four assists in the preseason contest against the Nuggets. Teammate Austin Reaves and head coach JJ Redick also commended his impact, with Redick labeling him an offensive connector capable of playing on the wing or at center.
