Cedars coach Michael Cheika is returning to rugby union after the World Cup – and there is one man he would love to see succeed him.
Lebanon head coach Michael Cheika has endorsed Wests Tigers legend Robbie Farah to succeed him as head coach of the national team. Cheika plans to conclude his rugby league coaching stint following the World Cup before returning to the NSW Waratahs in rugby union. With fellow assistant Matt King departing to coach the NSW State of Origin team next year, Cheika believes Farah is the best-equipped candidate to lead the Cedars moving forward.
Farah, who served as an assistant under Benji Marshall at the Tigers before stepping down in 2024, expressed openness to taking on the role. Reflecting on his long history with the national squad since his debut at age 18, Farah emphasized his desire to continue giving back to Lebanese rugby league.
