NFL owners meetings this week set the stage for drama to unfold.

NFL owners gather in New York for their fall meetings as San Francisco 49ers owner Jed York becomes eligible to return from a six-game suspension. York was suspended and fined $500,000 under the personal conduct policy following an August arrest in Ohio. Vincent Bonsignore writes that York's return brings key questions regarding league accountability and ownership standards alongside discussions led by commissioner Roger Goodell.
The meetings also arrive amid unresolved discipline reviews involving Los Angeles Rams players Puka Nacua and Alaric Jackson. Beyond player conduct matters, owners are expected to evaluate league growth, including potential regular-season expansion to 18 games and plans to stage up to 16 international games annually.
