Young allrounder Jake Scott made a rapid half-century to push the visitors to their declaration

Jack Edwards and Sean Abbott led a dominant bowling effort to keep New South Wales firmly in control against Western Australia on day two of their Sheffield Shield clash at the WACA. Western Australia reached 245 for 7 at stumps, trailing NSW's declared first-innings total of 440 for 6 by 195 runs. Edwards finished with 3 for 23, while Abbott claimed 2 for 25 to dismantle the hosts' top order.
Earlier in the day, NSW declared after resuming at 345 for 4, bolstered by Kurtis Patterson's 122 and a rapid unbeaten 60 from Jake Scott. Western Australia collapsed to 45 for 4 before Aaron Hardie and Joel Curtis mounted a 118-run partnership. However, Edwards broke the stand by removing both half-centurions in quick succession.
