Karl-Anthony Towns revealed he is willing to take less money to stay with the New York Knicks to help keep the team's core together. The Knicks have offered Towns a four-year, $200 million deal, but Towns noted that receiving a maximum contract was never his priority following their championship season.
Despite his willingness to take a discount, Towns expressed disappointment regarding the Knicks' announcement on October 9 pausing contract extension talks until later in the season. Eligible for an extension alongside teammates Josh Hart, Miles McBride, and Tyler Kolek, Towns stated the roster will now shift focus directly to basketball.
