Steve Kerr isn’t the only one not used to ‘Other Steve.’ What began as a routine halftime concession run at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas turned into a viral sensation when a fan at the preseason basketball game bought $46…
A Golden State Warriors fan mistakenly spent $46 on snacks for Steve Kerr's lookalike, Steve Gillis, during a preseason game against the Los Angeles Lakers in Las Vegas. The fan spotted Gillis in the concession line at T-Mobile Arena, paid for his beer, nachos, and M&Ms, praised his activism, and took a photo, believing he was the Warriors head coach. Gillis admitted he was too stunned by the fast-moving encounter to correct her.
Gillis, a Las Vegas high school English teacher and volleyball coach, has frequently been mistaken for Kerr since the 1990s. Later during the game, Gillis sat near the bench, prompting the real Kerr to stop and deliver a stunned stare toward his doppelganger. The two previously crossed paths at a Warriors game in San Francisco in March 2024.
