Cooper Bai has visited PNG Chiefs’ facilities, with talks ongoing around a move to the new NRL franchise when he departs Gold Coast Titans.

Cooper Bai is in ongoing talks to join incoming NRL franchise PNG Chiefs for 2028 after confirming he will leave Gold Coast Titans when his contract ends in 2027. The 19-year-old loose forward has already toured the new club's facilities after the Titans granted him early permission to negotiate his future with rival teams.
Bai, the son of former Melbourne Storm and Leeds Rhinos star Marcus Bai, has made 24 NRL appearances for Gold Coast. The Papua New Guinea international junior product joined the Titans in 2025 and debuted against Wests Tigers before representing the Kumuls in the Pacific Bowl.
