The Dallas Cowboys' decision to hire Brian Schottenheimer is backfiring for Jerry Jones.

Writer Richard Louis argues that Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is paying the price for penny-pinching on head coach Brian Schottenheimer. The Cowboys dropped to a 2-4 record following a 23-13 loss to the Green Bay Packers in Week 6, marking their second straight defeat despite having 10 days to prepare.
According to Louis, Schottenheimer earns $4.5 million annually, putting him in the bottom half of NFL coach salaries. Dallas holds a 9-13-1 record under Schottenheimer, with Louis asserting that Jones' reluctance to spend on top coaching candidates is hurting the team.
