Ameer Speed has earned the upper hand over Shavon Revel Jr. in Cowboys’ CB room

The Landry Hat's Richard Louis argues that Ameer Speed has outperformed Shavon Revel Jr. to claim the Dallas Cowboys' CB3 role. Following a 2-4 start to the season, Dallas defensive coordinator Christian Parker has faced questions regarding secondary rotation alongside starters Joey Porter Jr. and DaRon Bland. Louis contends that Speed's recent play justifies giving him all of Revel's snaps moving forward to help stabilize the defense.

According to coverage metrics highlighted in the piece, Revel has surrendered 12 receptions for 161 yards on 71 coverage snaps, while Speed has allowed just two catches for 17 yards on 48 coverage snaps. Louis notes that Speed has already outsnapped Revel in consecutive weeks, including logging 25 snaps to Revel's 17 in Week 6.
