Chad Epperson and Pablo Cabrera were promoted from within the organization in April, after Alex Cora and six coaches were fired.

The Boston Red Sox have reassigned interim third-base coach Chad Epperson and interim first-base coach Pablo Cabrera to minor-league positions. Epperson will take over as manager of Triple-A Worcester for the 2027 season, while Cabrera will return to his former role as minor-league defensive coordinator. The moves were confirmed to The Athletic by an anonymous team source discussing unannounced personnel matters.
Both coaches joined Boston's major-league staff in late April following the dismissal of manager Alex Cora and several assistants. Epperson replaces interim Worcester manager Iggy Suarez, who will become the affiliate's bench coach. Manager Chad Tracy, who secured a contract through 2029 in September, has 13 other staff members whose positions remain unresolved.
