Chicago Bulls play-by-play announcer Adam Amin delivered an emotional tribute to his late broadcast partner Stacey King during the team's season opener against the Toronto Raptors. King died at age 59 in June 2026 from hypertensive cardiovascular disease. In a tribute video aired on CHSN, Amin compared King's distinctive voice and presence to a mockingbird, referencing Harper Lee's classic novel.
During the broadcast, King's usual chair remained empty and was marked by a crown and a vintage card while Amin called the first quarter alone. The Bulls also introduced custom microphone patches featuring King's name for the season. King was a three-time NBA champion with the Bulls as a player before spending two decades as a beloved broadcaster.
