Celtic suffered a sobering 4-1 Europa League defeat by Benfica last Thursday but responded in fine style on Sunday with a 7-1 win over Hearts…

Shaun Maloney downplayed Celtic's 7-1 Scottish Premiership victory against Hearts, stating the result did not feel seismic from a coaching perspective despite the emphatic scoreline. Stepping in for manager Martin O'Neill ahead of Celtic's Europa League fixture with Celta Vigo, Maloney emphasized that the coaching staff still saw plenty of areas requiring improvement.
Maloney confirmed that defender Auston Trusty will miss out due to a personal matter, while Alistair Johnston, Cameron Carter-Vickers, and Callum Osmand have returned to fitness. He also addressed the ongoing friction between the club and the Green Brigade supporters' group, hoping all parties can resolve tensions to recreate the unified atmosphere seen late last season.
