Nick Robertson scored two goals to lead the Pittsburgh Penguins to a shutout victory against the Florida Panthers on Thursday night. Robertson opened the scoring past goaltender Cooper Black off an assist from Connor Dewar and later added an empty-net goal. Notably, both of the Penguins' regulation wins this season have come via shutouts in games where Robertson scored twice.
Todd Matthews argues that the Penguins should give Robertson more ice time, pointing to his strong early production of six goals in 11 games despite averaging just 12:27 per contest. Matthews highlights Robertson's positive underlying even-strength metrics, suggesting Pittsburgh could boost its offensive depth and gain ground in the Metropolitan Division by utilizing him more frequently.
