Ipswich Town manager Gary O'Neil felt the officials made the right call when deciding not to send off Issa Diop in tonight's 1-1 home draw with Nottingham Forest.
Ipswich Town manager Gary O'Neil backed the referee's decision not to send off Issa Diop during their 1-1 home draw against Nottingham Forest. After a VAR review, referee Thomas Bramall issued a yellow card instead of a red card for Diop's challenge on James McAtee, judging that McAtee was moving away from goal.
O'Neil argued that defender Leif Davis was in position to cover and prevent a clear goal-scoring opportunity. Nottingham Forest manager Oliver Glasner felt the incident looked like a red card during the match, but stated that his side had to accept the referee's call after Neco Williams and Julio Enciso exchanged goals.
