Kieron Pollard, who was an integral part of the Mumbai Indians teams that won five IPL titles, has taken over as head coach of the franchise.

Mumbai Indians have appointed franchise legend Kieron Pollard as their new head coach. The former West Indies captain succeeds Mahela Jayawardene, who parted ways with the team after a nearly decade-long tenure. Pollard, who joined the franchise as a player in 2010 and later worked as batting coach, described the appointment as an important responsibility representing the franchise.
During his 16-year association with Mumbai Indians, Pollard won five Indian Premier League titles and two Champions League T20 crowns before retiring as an IPL player in November 2022. Franchise co-owner Nita Ambani welcomed Pollard's appointment as the team aims to rebound from finishing bottom of the table in both 2022 and 2024.
