Chicago Bears defensive end Montez Sweat has been officially reinstated from his two-game suspension on Friday, according to Kevin Fishbain of The Athletic. The reinstatement makes the pass rusher available to play in the team's upcoming Week 8 matchup. Sweat had previously been sidelined after serving a suspension for violating the NFL's Performance-Enhancing Substances Policy, which forced him to miss games against the Falcons and Patriots.
Sweat was originally acquired by Chicago from the Washington Commanders during the 2023 season and signed a four-year, $98 million extension. Before the suspension, the 30-year-old defensive end appeared in five games for the Bears during the 2026 campaign, recording seven total tackles and two sacks.
