Will MS Dhoni return for another season of the Indian Premier League (IPL), or is the former India captain close to calling time on his career? The questions around his future continue as fans wait to know whether he will…
Former Chennai Super Kings captain MS Dhoni has indicated that his participation in IPL 2027 depends on his physical condition. The 45-year-old stated he will undergo fitness assessments before December to evaluate whether his body can handle another season. Dhoni previously missed the entire IPL 2026 campaign because of ongoing calf and fitness concerns.
Dhoni noted that medical staff will determine his readiness, jokingly comparing his physical state to an aging vintage vehicle. Across his IPL career, Dhoni has scored 5,439 runs in 278 matches and captained Chennai Super Kings to five tournament titles, though CSK have struggled since Ruturaj Gaikwad took over captaincy in 2024.
