New Warrington recruit Mitch Prest has landed the first disciplinary charge of the World Cup following his Fiji debut, and may now be banned.

New Warrington Wolves recruit Mitch Prest faces a potential one-match ban after receiving the first disciplinary charge of the 2026 Rugby League World Cup. The 23-year-old prop was cited by the Match Review Committee for a Grade 1 careless high tackle on Cameron Brown during Fiji's 40-12 opening victory over the Cook Islands in Newcastle.
Prest can accept the charge to receive only a warning, but an unsuccessful challenge would trigger a one-game suspension. That ban would rule the former Mackay Cutters forward out of Fiji's upcoming tournament clash against reigning champions Australia in Brisbane.
