Austin Smotherman beat Seamus Power in a sudden-death playoff on Monday in Bermuda. But both left with something they needed.

Austin Smotherman defeated Seamus Power on the third hole of a sudden-death playoff on Monday to win the weather-shortened Butterfield Bermuda Championship at Port Royal Golf Course. The victory earned Smotherman his second PGA Tour title in quick succession, extending his full-time tour exemption through 2029 and lifting him to 51st in the FedEx Cup Fall standings.
Despite the defeat, Power achieved his major objective by rising 35 places to 68th in the FedEx Fall standings. The runner-up finish all but secured Power a full-time PGA Tour card for the 2027 season, ending a year of schedule uncertainty.
