The New Orleans Saints were so bad on the ground that Aaron Rodgers had a longer run on one play than any Saints rusher had all game long…

Writer Darrion Gray argues that the New Orleans Saints displayed a historically poor rushing performance in their game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Saints managed just 18 rushing yards on 17 attempts, with Tyler Shough leading the team with 7 total yards. Both Alvin Kamara and Kendre Miller averaged only 0.8 yards per carry, and no individual New Orleans runner managed a 10-yard gain throughout the entire contest.
Gray contends that the offensive line is largely responsible for the failure by providing minimal support and allowing running backs to be hit behind the line of scrimmage. The analysis notes that Pittsburgh's Jaylen Warren gained 29 yards on his first carry alone, and concludes that previous rushing success against the New York Giants was deceptive given New Orleans' persistent offensive line issues.
