Austin Smotherman’s strayed from his normal warm-up routine before his Butterfield Bermuda Championship playoff on Monday.

Austin Smotherman used a modified warm-up session on the par-4 15th hole before securing a sudden-death playoff victory at the Butterfield Bermuda Championship. After extreme winds canceled Sunday's final round, Smotherman and co-leader Seamus Power faced a Monday morning playoff at Port Royal. Heavy head-on range winds prompted the Tour rules committee to grant rare permission for both competitors to warm up on-course.
The playoff format repeatedly challenged both golfers on the par-3 16th hole amid strong coastal gusts. Smotherman matched pars with Power on the first two extra holes before securing victory on the third playoff hole with a two-putt par, clinching his second PGA Tour title in under a month.
